The surrounding hills are not only a pleasure to explore by car or on foot; they represent the very heart of Chianti Classico. The region is famous for its robust red wines, crafted from the grapes you see growing all around you. Only a few minutes from Villa Fioriamo, you will find yourself amidst the vineyards. Chianti Classico, From Grape to Glass
Chianti is one of Italy’s largest and most famous wine regions, with more than 340 Chianti Classico wine producers scattered across the landscape. Wine has been produced here for centuries on a scale that remains impressive: the area covers over 70,000 hectares and accounts for approximately 10% of Italy’s total wine production.
To carry the Chianti Classico name, a wine must consist of at least 80% Sangiovese grapes and originate from this specific region. This quality is evident in every glass. The wines are often intense, featuring fruity and floral aromas. They possess distinct tannins and fresh acidity, while remaining supple and accessible.
Wineries Around the Corner
In the immediate vicinity, you will find numerous small and medium-sized wineries where you are welcome for tastings. Often, you can sit outdoors with views over the hills while discovering various wines.
Close to the villa, you will find the Altiero and Maurizio Brogioni wineries. They produce exceptional organic wines and olive oil. We have made special arrangements with them exclusively for our guests. You can visit them for a tasting or even enjoy a picnic among the vines. Further Discovery in Tuscany
Should you wish to explore further, many other wine regions are within easy reach. Consider a day trip to Montalcino or Montepulciano, where entirely different styles of wine are produced.
